The Materials Science Society of Pakistan proudly celebrates the recognition of its Vice President, Dr. M. Zubair Iqbal, who was honored at a prestigious reception held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on September 27, 2024. The event, organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, highlighted the contributions of foreign experts to the nation’s progress.

Dr. Zubair, a prominent figure in the field of biocompatible nanomaterials and cancer research, is a Professor at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and a visiting professor at the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology & Engineering (NIMTE), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He holds the title of Overseas High-Level Expert of Zhejiang Province and also serves as Vice Director of the Zhejiang-Mauritius Joint Research Center for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. His innovative work in cancer theranostics and his extensive research leadership have earned him widespread recognition in both Pakistan and China.

Dr. Zubair’s role in advancing materials science and fostering international collaboration has made him a key figure in Pakistan’s scientific community. His previous accolades include the prestigious West Lake Friendship Award, the highest provincial honor for foreign experts in Zhejiang Province.

At the national reception, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang conveyed gratitude to foreign experts for their vital contributions to China’s development, reaffirming China’s commitment to supporting international talent. Dr. Zubair’s presence at this landmark event is a proud moment for Pakistan’s scientific community and highlights his invaluable contributions to the global advancement of materials science.
