The research activity envisaged for this grant consists in producing single crystals of Sr2RuO4, Sr3Ru2O7 and Ca2RuO4 with the floating zone technique. For this purpose, pure phase polycrystalline samples of the aforesaid compounds will have to be made in order to proceed with the production of single crystals using an image furnace. The obtained samples will be characterized by scanning electron microscopy (Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, Wavelength Dispersive Spectroscopy and Electron Back-Scattered Diffraction) and X-ray diffraction

Eligibility criteria
• Master degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or equivalent matter and PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or equivalent matter (at least three years);
• Experience in the field of synthesis of solid state materials (massive materials and / or single crystals and / or thin films)
• Knowledge / skills in the field of structural, morphological and compositional characterization of inorganic materials
•good level of English and some knowledge of Italian
